The Love of Marble

I thought you might enjoy seeing how it all begins. I’ve been here. Exciting is an understatement. Here is how the marble comes out of the mountain.

These mega ton blocks are then loaded onto flat bed trucks and drivers with more nerve than can be imagined drive down this road to get to the bottom of the mountain.

Eventually the marble is cut or sliced into manageable sizes and at the bottom of the process sculptors like me can find a piece and turn it into something like this .
