Where does new work come from?
In my case the catalyst was a back injury
that kept me from carving marble during
the past year. Not being able to lift stone
gave me an ideal opportunity to explore
a painting style that has been evolving for
many years. What I tend to do is create a
|
visual problem and then work on a piece
until I solve that problem. Time is not an issue.
I love texture and depth. All of these paintings
change many times during the process. That
process is evolutionary just like carving marble.
One step at a time until the piece says ,
“I’m finished.” |
